Dear reader,

My name is Doron Dinovitzer, and I’ve decided to create this blog in an effort to better understand online behaviour and how changes in social trends affect us individually and its broader impact on the world around us. I hope you enjoy the journey as I try to make numbers and stats a little less dry!

The core theme of this blog is to embrace the idea of analytics in a shared community. John Donne authored the line “no man is an island” and the same holds true of a website not operating in a vacuum. Even if no one reads it, surely a search engine will come along and crawl it, provided the use of proper tagging and compliance have been followed!

Many self-subscribed experts, gurus and evangelists claim to have a deep understanding of the driving forces of the web industry. While many of these professionals probably do, I claim to be none of these things. I am an enthusiast of the web; an observer watching events unfold; and an active user participating as part of the community.

The ways in which I will measure success of this blog will be:

  • Overall Traffic Numbers
  • Returning Visitors
  • Readers/Subscribers
  • Comments (no spam please!)
  • Create enough ad revenue to retire to a local Starbucks

Although, since I don’t drink coffee I will settle for a slightly less measurable and definable goal of finding my own personal voice in a growing crowd that makes up the digital space.
